Lore & Background
Joseph agreed to play music with Salih after being impressed by the recording studio Salih had built in his house. Josh Dun met Salih while working at Guitar Center, and Salih eventually introduced him to Joseph; when Dun was about to leave for Nashville, Salih offered him his role as the band's drummer. Salih has said in an interview that Mark Eshleman, a longtime friend of the band and its creative director, created the band's logo.
