2015 Tour de France
Utrecht to Paris: Froome's second, against Quintana in the Alps.
The 2015 Tour de France was the 102nd edition, 3,360.3 km in 21 stages from Utrecht in the Netherlands on 4 July to the Champs-Élysées on 26 July, with 198 riders from 22 teams. Chris Froome won, becoming the first British rider to win the Tour twice after his 2013 victory, with the Movistar pair Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde second and third. Rohan Dennis won stage 1 and the first yellow jersey; Fabian Cancellara took it on stage 2 and crashed out the next day, putting Froome in front after the first uphill finish; Tony Martin led from stage 4 until a crash at the end of stage 6 forced him out, and Froome then built his lead in the Pyrenees and defended it against Quintana's attacks in the Alps. Peter Sagan won the points classification, Froome the mountains, Quintana the young rider prize and Movistar the team classification.
