The Skellige Isles are inhabited by several clans whose culture resembles that of Norse-Gaels. The archipelago is a destination for Geralt of Rivia after he learns Ciri teleported there to escape pursuit from Novigrad. Upon arrival, Geralt reunites with Yennefer of Vengerberg. Her investigation reveals that Ciri first came to the isles accompanied by the elf Avallac'h but became separated when the Wild Hunt attacked. That separation is how she ended up in Velen.
