Background
In Time of Contempt, the King of Aedirn launches an attack on Nilfgaard, and Aedirn, Rivia and Lyria then fall quickly to the Nilfgaardian invaders. In The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, a witcher is believed to have assassinated King Demavend, and Geralt sails to upper Aedirn.
In Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, Queen Meve encounters the Aedirnian captain Black Rayla in Aedirn, and at the end of the game the three rulers – Meve, Demavend and King Henselt of Kaedwen – crush the Nilfgaardian army in Aedirn, ending the war. In the Netflix series, Yennefer serves Aedirn for thirty years after charming its King Virfuril into taking her as advisor.
