Publishing history
Between 1993 and 1995, the Polish publisher Prószyński i S-ka released six comic book adaptations of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher stories in its Komiks magazine. The scripts were co-written by Maciej Parowski and Sapkowski, with artwork by Bogusław Polch. The sixth and final issue, Zdrada (The Betrayal), published in Komiks 2/95, was the only original story in the series, based on an unused idea developed with Sapkowski’s input. It features a young Geralt and is set before most other works. In 2001, the six comics were collected into two paperback volumes, each containing three stories. An English-language edition, titled The Witcher: Classic Collection, was released as a single volume by Dark Horse Comics in 2025.
