Hyrule's shadowy twin in A Link to the Past.

The Dark World is a parallel world to Hyrule in A Link to the Past, a darker version of the land, which by contrast is called the Light World.

Lore & Background

It is a corrupted Hyrule, often the result of Ganon's influence. Moving between two similar-looking versions of a land was a clever way to reuse assets and save cartridge space, and the idea returned in later games.
