Lore & Background
In the story of Taborlin the Great, the wizard calls the wind by name and it sets him down safely after a fall. Many people doubt that anyone can truly do this. Kvothe watches Abenthy call the wind against hostile townspeople and vows to find the name. At the university he calls it without meaning to when Ambrose breaks his lute, breaking Ambrose's arm; he is lashed, avoids expulsion, and is moved up under Master Namer Elodin. Ambrose later has him charged with Consortation with Demonic Powers for it.
