Chandrian
Seven beings of legend whose coming is marked by blue flame.
The Chandrian are evil beings from the tales of The Kingkiller Chronicle, said to be heralded by flames turning blue. Most people dismiss them as bogeymen from old stories.
Lore & Background
They are real. When Kvothe's father Arliden gathers their stories for a ballad about Lanre, the Chandrian kill him, the whole troupe and anyone he might have told, and Kvothe returns from the woods to find them sitting round a blue campfire. Their leader is Lord Haliax, once the hero Lanre; another of them is Cinder. Later Kvothe learns they slaughtered a rural wedding party because the bride's father had dug up an old pot painted with all seven of them. The Cthaeh tells Kvothe that the bandit leader he fought in the Eld was Cinder, and the Adem know the Chandrian as the Rhinta.
