Dagoth Ur serves as the primary antagonist in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, a demigod housed within the volcanic Red Mountain on the island of Vvardenfell. He leads the Sixth House, a cult of followers stretching from the volcano's core, and seeks to gain power to break Morrowind free from Imperial reign. Unlike traditional fantasy villains, Ur is driven by a desire to liberate his people through immortality and independence, utilizing the Heart of Lorkhan to sustain himself against death. His conflict with the player forms the central questline, pitting him against the Imperial Legion occupiers and the Tribunal, his former allies.

The central plot concerns Dagoth Ur, who uses the Heart of Lorkhan to make himself immortal. He established a network of spies and created Akulakhan, an enormous mechanical golem powered by the Heart, to drive the Imperial Legion occupiers from Morrowind. His influence spreads through the Sixth House cult, which challenges the authority of the Tribunal, a triumvirate of god-like beings ruling over the province. He claims to be merely following Nerevar's final orders and tries to sway the player to his side before they fight.
