The extinct Dwarves of Tamriel, whose ruins and tools shape Morrowind and Skyrim.
The Dwemer, known colloquially as Dwarves, are an extinct race of The Elder Scrolls whose forts and ruins litter Skyrim. In The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind they created the tools Sunder and Keening to tap the power of the Heart of Lorkhan, which they found beneath Red Mountain, and the gauntlet Wraithguard, an ancient Dwemer artefact that lets those tools be used safely.

Dwemer ruins recur across the series: a secret passage in Mournhold leads to one in Tribunal, Blackreach in Skyrim's Dawnguard holds an Elder Scroll, and Nchardak on Solstheim holds a Black Book in Dragonborn.
