Hammerfell
The Redguard province of Tamriel, from Daggerfall to Redguard.
Hammerfell is the province of Tamriel that is home to the Redguards. Together with High Rock it surrounds the Iliac Bay, the setting of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, and the island of Stros M'Kai off its coast is the setting of The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, set in the final years of the Second Era during the Tiber Wars, shortly after Tiber Septim's Third Empire conquered and occupied Hammerfell.
Lore & Background
In Redguard the death of Hammerfell's king has sparked a civil war between the Crowns and the Forebears. In the backstory of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, large parts of Hammerfell were to be ceded to the Aldmeri Dominion under the White-Gold Concordat, but the Redguards seceded from the Empire, drove the Dominion out and became an inward-looking rogue state. The Elder Scrolls Online's Thieves Guild DLC is set in Hew's Bane in Hammerfell.
