Pumpkin Moon

It is summoned with the Pumpkin Moon Medallion at any time of night and ends at dawn (4:30 AM).^[1] The event consists of 20 waves, which progress as the player reaches certain kill scores.^[1] The Pumpkin Moon is a Halloween-themed event in Terraria that becomes available after Plantera is defeated and requires Hardmode.^[1] Summoning the event is possible during any time of the year, not only during the Halloween season.^[1]

In Expert Mode, the points earned are multiplied by 2, while Master Mode applies a 2.5 multiplier.^[1]

Waves

Accumulating 3410 points is needed to get to wave 15, and 10160 points are required for wave 20.^[2] Mourning Wood, Pumpking, and Headless Horseman are boss-type enemies that have per-wave spawn caps.^[2]

Loot

Trophies have a separate drop chance starting at wave 15, which increases at waves 17 and 19.^[3]

Tips

The Pumpkin Moon can be used to farm other items, such as Pirate Maps at the Ocean, by avoiding the event enemies.^[4]

Trivia

Pumpking is the only boss in this event that can fly through blocks without stopping and cannot be trapped.^[5]
