Counter Edge is a gameplay mechanic exclusive to Tales of Arise: an action ability unlocked with skill panels that every playable character can use, based on the series' Counter skill.

Background
To perform a Counter Edge the character must first perform a perfect evade or guard, timed just as an enemy attack is about to hit, which slows the flow of battle a little. The player must then press the Attack button within a short span of time, and the character teleports to the target before performing an attack. The antagonist Vholran Igniseri can also exploit the Counter Edge mechanic, dodging attacks before countering.
