RoadCraft

RoadCraft is a vehicle simulation game from Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment. Players take charge of a construction company focused on disaster recovery, using 40 heavy equipment vehicles to assess damage, clear debris, transport materials, repair infrastructure, and rebuild roads and bridges. The game launched with eight maps and supports four-player cooperative multiplayer.

Saber Interactive, the studio behind MudRunner, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, and SnowRunner, developed the title. Announced in August 2024, RoadCraft released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 20, 2025. Purchasers of the physical edition receive a free additional vehicle, the Aramatsu Bowhead 30T. A paid expansion, Rebuild, arrived in September 2025 alongside a free update adding new difficulty options.

According to review aggregator Metacritic, RoadCraft received "generally favorable" reviews. OpenCritic reported strong approval, with 78% of critics recommending the game.

Lore & Background

RoadCast was developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind MudRunner, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, and SnowRunner. The game was announced in August 2024. In RoadCraft, the player character is in charge of a construction company specializing in natural disaster recovery. The game features 40 different heavy equipment vehicles, which can be used for damage assessment, debris removal, transport of materials, infrastructure repair, and reconstruction of damaged bridges and roads. Debris can be recycled, turning them into materials for reconstruction. Players can manually operate each vehicle, though tasks can also be automated to enhance efficiency, with the player plotting the routes of each vehicle. The game supports four-player cooperative multiplayer. A paid expansion titled Rebuild was released in September 2025, alongside a free update that introduced additional difficulty options. Players who purchased the physical edition of the game received an additional vehicle, the Aramatsu Bowhead 30T, for free.

Reader's Guide

RoadCraft received 'generally favorable' reviews according to review aggregator website Metacritic. Fellow review aggregator OpenCritic assessed that the game received strong approval, being recommended by 78% of critics. The game's significance lies in its focus on natural disaster recovery and reconstruction using heavy equipment, a niche within the vehicle simulation genre. Developed by Saber Interactive, known for their previous off-road simulation titles, RoadCraft expands on the studio's expertise by introducing debris recycling and route automation mechanics. The inclusion of four-player cooperative multiplayer allows for collaborative play, and the post-launch expansion Rebuild, alongside a free update adding difficulty options, extended the game's content after its initial release. The physical edition bonus vehicle, the Aramatsu Bowhead 30T, provided an additional incentive for physical purchasers.
