Reader's Guide
Most areas open up early and are reached mainly by taxi, with visas or a helicopter for some. Money and Karma, which is spent freely on stats, come from shadowruns offered by Mr. Johnsons in clubs and bars: gang raids, extractions, courier jobs, ghoul hunts or Matrix runs, with pay shaped by Joshua's negotiation skill. Joshua starts as a samurai, a decker or a gator shaman, which sets only his opening stats and gear; only shamans and allied mages can use magic, and heavy cyberware weakens it. Other shadowrunners can be hired for a single run or, at ten times the price, for life. Joshua's cyberdeck carries hacking utilities, and stolen files sell for anything up to 12,000 nuyen.
