Gameplay

In Hammerfight, players control a hovering vehicle with a weapon attached by a chain. The game uses realistic physics: swinging the vehicle in circles builds up centripetal force, which gives the weapon enough kinetic energy to damage enemies. The demo offered six weapon types, split between four melee and two ranged options. Players can choose a play style, like a slow, heavily armored fighter using hammers or maces for powerful but slow hits, or a fast, lightly armored sword user who lands quick but weaker strikes. The main challenge involves keeping the weapon spinning, landing solid hits on foes, and dodging enemy attacks. Weapon choice matters: blades work best against unarmored targets, while heavy blunt weapons are more effective against armor. Players can equip two weapons at once, mixing different weights and types to find a pair that suits their preferred tactics.
