Gameplay
The player aims to achieve a happy ending with a hostess by repeatedly visiting her at the club and winning her heart. Visits cost money, which is earned through part-time jobs; the player selects one work option from two to four, and the result is immediately displayed. Money is spent on club entrance, drinks for the player and a chosen hostess, and gifts. Most gameplay occurs one-on-one with a hostess, raising her affection by answering questions favorably, giving desired presents, and scoring high on mini-games such as karaoke performances where the player times button presses with the music. Performance over repeated visits determines whether a happy ending is achieved, or if the player is left lonesome due to expired membership or a certain event that results in friendship only.
Legacy
The first manga adaptation of Dream C Club, titled Dream Club Destiny and illustrated by 888, began in the October issue of Comic Rush, which hit shelves on August 26. A second manga, Dream C Club: Dear Girls, started its serialization on Famitsu Comic Clear on May 15, 2010. On November 10, 2010, Project No. 9 released two music videos: one for "Sweetx2☆Summer" performed by Ami Koshimizu and Kaori Mizuhashi, featuring Amane and Setsu, and another for "Time Traveler" sung by Asumi Kodama and Sawa Ishige, featuring Airi and Mari. The sequel Dream Club Zero came out on January 27, 2011, introducing three new hostesses—Haruka, a wealthy girl; Nonono, a time traveler; and Asuka, a pro beach volleyball player. It earned a CERO D rating for including more sexual content, like erotic eating scenes. A mahjong spin-off, Mahjong Dream C Club, launched on March 29, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. On February 22, 2014, the free-to-play spin-off Dream C Club: Host Girls on Stage arrived on PlayStation 4. Another sequel, Dream C Club Gogo, followed on April 10, 2014 for PlayStation 3.
