Lore & Background
When Leo was eight, Gaea burned down his mother's machine shop, resulting in her death, and leading him to believe that it was his fault because he had pyrokinesis; his remaining family blamed him and left him a foster child. Before Leo, the last child of Hephaestus able to create and control fire was Thomas Faynor.
Reader's Guide
Leo is also immune to fire, which allows him to corral and tame the bronze dragon Festus in The Lost Hero.
