Konoha Nine-Tails Attack
A village shattered by a beast, saved by two heroes who paid with their lives.
The Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha began when a masked ninja released the seal that held the Nine-Tailed Fox inside Kushina Uzumaki while she was weak from giving birth. The beast was released and rampaged through the village. In response, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, sacrificed his life by splitting the fox in half and sealing the fox inside himself and in the body of his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, respectively, making him a host of the beast. The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, returned from retirement to become the leader of the Leaf again.

The attack began when a masked ninja broke the Nine-Tailed Fox's seal as Kushina Uzumaki gave birth and took control of the beast. The beast's rampage tore through the village streets. Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life by splitting the fox in half and sealing the fox inside himself and in the body of his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki, respectively, making him a host of the beast. Due to a decree by the Third Hokage forbidding any mention of these events, Naruto learns nothing about the Nine-Tails until 12 years later, when Mizuki, a renegade ninja, reveals the truth to him.

The attack irrevocably altered Konoha's trajectory. Though Minato and Kushina died as heroes, their son inherited their sacrifice alongside a village that feared the monster inside him.
