Might Guy
A man who proves that relentless hard work can overcome any genius.
Might Guy is a Konohagakure ninja and the leader of Team Guy, who devotes most of his time to his pupil Rock Lee. In the film Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie he and Kakashi Hatake lead the Konoha 11 as they drive off a group of White Zetsu posing as fallen Akatsuki members.
Lore & Background
He calls Kakashi Hatake his childhood rival and is usually found competing with him, although Kakashi never shows much interest in the rivalry. He taught Rock Lee, who cannot use ninjutsu or genjutsu, many of the techniques he learned from his own father, Might Duy.
Reader's Guide
As the leader of Team Guy, with Rock Lee, Tenten and Neji Hyuga, he relies on his mastery of taijutsu, although unlike Lee he is fully able to use ninjutsu and genjutsu.
His best-known technique is unlocking the Eight Gates, which normally restrict the flow of chakra through the body.
Guy's legacy is cemented during the Fourth Great Ninja War against Madara Uchiha. There he is forced to open the Eighth Gate, which lets him keep up with Madara but fails to defeat him. Naruto saves his life with the power of the Sage of Six Paths, but his right leg is too damaged to heal fully and he remains paraplegic in the epilogue.
