In the animated series X-Men: Evolution, Cyclops is depicted as a confident, self-assured extroverted teenager at Bayville High who eventually becomes an instructor at Xavier's School. He shares a close brotherly bond with Nightcrawler and enters a relationship with Jean Grey. Conversely, in Wolverine and the X-Men, he begins as a brooding loner after Professor X and Jean Grey disappear, obsessively searching for her before reluctantly rejoining the team to enter a relationship with Emma Frost.

In the 20th Century Fox films, James Marsden portrays Scott as the field leader until his death by the Phoenix in X-Men: The Last Stand; however, time travel in Days of Future Past restores him. A separate timeline features Tye Sheridan as a young Summers who is Havok's younger brother, appearing in Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an alternate variant is mentioned as killed in Deadpool & Wolverine, while Kit Connor is set to portray the native incarnation.
