The Coliseum was originally named Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum from 1966 to 1998. It underwent several name changes: Network Associates Coliseum (1998–2004), McAfee Coliseum (2004–2008), Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum (2008–2011), Overstock.com Coliseum (2011), O.co Coliseum (2011–2016), and again Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum (2016–2019). In 2017, the playing surface was dedicated as Rickey Henderson Field. The stadium was also the home of the Oakland Athletics from 1968 to 2024.

It wasn't a modern dome; it was the old Coliseum, where every tackle shook the ground and history was written on the grass.

The Coliseum has a seating capacity of up to 63,132 depending on configuration. An upper deck dubbed 'Mount Davis' was added in a 1996 renovation for the Raiders' return. The stadium was the last remaining in the United States shared by professional baseball and football teams. It is currently the home of the San Francisco Unicorns of Major League Cricket and also hosts Oakland Roots SC of the USL Championship.
