Death of Kento Nanami

Burned by Jogo and finished by Mahito: the end of Yuji Itadori's mentor in Shibuya.

Kento Nanami, the Grade 1 sorcerer who mentored Yuji Itadori, dies during the Shibuya Incident. Already fatally burned by Jogo, he is killed by Mahito's Idle Transfiguration in front of Yuji.

Lore & Background

In Shibuya Station Nanami fights the cursed spirit Dagon alongside Maki Zen'in and Naobito Zen'in and survives Dagon's Domain. Moments after Dagon is exorcised, Jogo arrives and sets the three of them on fire. Gravely injured and delirious, Nanami thinks of his unfulfilled dream of resting on a beach in Malaysia as he faces a horde of transfigured humans, and he uses the last of his strength to defeat them.

Mahito then appears and touches his back. In his last moments Nanami looks back on his choices and sees his dead classmate Yu Haibara, who gestures toward Yuji, a witness to the scene. The death drives Yuji into a ferocious fight with Mahito. Nanami's weapon, which carries his Ratio Technique, is later wielded by his protege Takuma Ino against Sukuna.
