They optimize his Cursed Energy use and amplify his technique, Limitless. As a student in 2006 he keeps them active for two days straight while guarding Riko Amanai, and the exhaustion gives Toji Fushiguro his opening.
Reader's Guide
The Six Eyes matter beyond Gojo himself: Tengen explains that Kenjaku's earlier attempts at his plan failed because a Six Eyes user was present. The curse users Jiro Awasaka and Ogami say Gojo's Six Eyes and Limitless took their freedom from them.
