Berk
The Hooligan Tribe's island home, where Hiccup first befriended a dragon.
Berk is the Viking village where the How to Train Your Dragon films begin, set on the rugged Isle of Berk and led by the chieftain Stoick the Vast. Dragons raid it for livestock until Hiccup befriends the Night Fury Toothless and the Red Death is destroyed, after which humans and dragons live there in peace.

Lore & Background
In the television series the island must adjust to dragons living among the Vikings, and Berk opens a Dragon Training Academy. By The Hidden World the island is overcrowded with rescued dragons and attacked by hunters; when Grimmel's Deathgrippers destroy the village, Hiccup leads its people to a new island they name New Berk. Universal's Epic Universe theme park, which opened on May 22, 2025, includes a land named How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk.
