Salamanders
Vulkan's Legion from the volcanic world of Nocturne.
The Salamanders are the Space Marine Legion of the Primarch Vulkan, from the home world of Nocturne. Their survivors of the Dropsite Massacre join the Iron Hands and Raven Guard as the Shattered Legions.
Background
In Deathfire, Artellus Numeon, once captain of the Pyre Guard, leads the Salamanders on Macragge to take Vulkan's seemingly dead body home to Nocturne and try to revive him in the fires of Mount Deathfire. In Old Earth the resurrected Vulkan leaves his home world and his Legion behind to return to Terra.
