Terra
Earth, the throne-world of the Emperor and the Heresy's final battlefield.
Terra is Earth, the origin of the Great Crusade - the interstellar crusade that claims the galaxy for humankind and aims to reunite its scattered colonies under an Imperium of Man. After appointing Horus Warmaster, the Emperor returns to Terra, where in relative isolation he undertakes a secret project that not even Horus knows of.
Lore & Background
The Outcast Dead is the first novel-length story in the series set almost entirely on Terra. Magnus's unauthorised psychic visit damages the Emperor's secret project and disrupts Terra's long-range communications. When Horus at last orders the march on Terra itself, loyalists such as Sanguinius race to its defence, and the war ends there with the Siege of Terra, the death of Horus and the Emperor's installation upon the Golden Throne.
