The Sinners
The damned souls of dead humans - Hell's majority, Heaven's targets, and the hotel's clientele.
Sinners, or sinner demons, are the souls of humans who sinned in life and were sent to Hell: the population that Charlie Morningstar's hotel sets out to redeem in Hazbin Hotel. They are distinct from the Hellborn, the demons native to Hell, and they are the targets of Heaven's annual Extermination. Nearly all of the hotel's residents - Angel Dust, Sir Pentious, Alastor, Husk and Niffty among them - are sinners.

Background
A sinner's demonic form reflects who they were in life: Alastor, a New Orleans radio host, became a deer-like demon with a voice full of static; Vox, a TV weatherman, has a television for a head. Sinners can rise by making deals with stronger demons or by owning souls themselves, which is how the overlords came to power. Named sinners in the series include the mad scientist Baxter, Angel Dust's friend Cherri Bomb, the news anchors Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench, Alastor's friend Mimzy, the cannibal Susan, and Travis. Sir Pentious became the first sinner to be redeemed and sent to Heaven.
On the fan wiki's account sinners are confined to the Pride Ring by a magical barrier, while Hellborn demons can travel between all seven rings; the Extermination therefore only ever reaches the Pride Ring. The series also establishes that angelic weapons are the one thing that can kill a sinner permanently.
