Installation 04 is the Halo ring of Halo: Combat Evolved, one of several ring-shaped megastructures of the Forerunner Halo Array. Fleeing the Covenant after Reach, the UNSC ship Pillar of Autumn stumbled upon it.
Lore & Background
Its caretaker is the monitor 343 Guilty Spark, who spent millennia alone there and needs a human Reclaimer to activate it; although he knows what firing the ring would do, he insists it is the only way to stop the Flood outbreak. The Master Chief destroys the ring at the end of the game.
