Rtas 'Vadum rose through Covenant ranks by demonstrating exceptional combat prowess and strategic acumen, eventually commanding the *Shadow of Intent*. As Shipmaster during the Human-Covenant War's endgame, he realized Truth's deception while orbiting Installation 05 and High Charity. Unlike Thel 'Vadam (the Arbiter), who led the ground assault on Delta Halo to secure victory there, 'Vadum remained aboard High Charity before escaping just as the Flood consumed the station. During the Great Schism in Halo 2, prior to the assassination of the High Prophet of Truth, 'Vadum emerged as a key leader within the Separatist faction. He forged an uneasy but necessary alliance with the UNSC and Master Chief, fighting alongside former enemies against Loyalist forces. While Thel 'Vadam served as the Arbiter and political leader of the Sangheili Separatists, 'Vadum's military leadership was instrumental in securing victory during the final battle for Earth in Halo 3, where he played a crucial role in repelling the Covenant invasion.
