Atriox rose through the Covenant ranks as a war chief during the Human-Covenant War. The Banished are a mercenary organization of aliens and humans led by Atriox. In recent conflicts, Atriox targeted Installation 07 to seize control of Forerunner technology. In Halo Infinite he defeats the Master Chief in a one-on-one duel aboard the UNSC Infinity and throws him into space; by the time the Chief reaches Zeta Halo the Banished are led by his lieutenant Escharum after Atriox's apparent death.
