Felix Leiter is a CIA operative and James Bond's friend, created by Ian Fleming for the Bond novels and carried into the films and other media. After a shark attack costs him a leg and a hand, he joins the Pinkerton Detective Agency.

Fleming took the first name from the middle name of his friend Ivar Bryce and the surname from his friend Marion Oates Leiter Charles. Leiter appears in novels by the continuation authors, in ten films and in the television "Casino Royale", where he became a British agent, Clarence Leiter. In the Eon films he has been played by Jack Lord, Cec Linder, Rik Van Nutter, Norman Burton, David Hedison, John Terry and Jeffrey Wright.
