Lore & Background
In the game, Scaramanga is an independent arms dealer and former KGB agent, not an official of Goldfinger's organization. He does not create the protagonist's golden cybernetic eye; Dr. No creates it, and Scaramanga only provides upgrades, starting with MRI vision. Later, he gives the eye a computer virus that can overload the OMEN weapon.
In Their Own Story
The jungle air hung thick and wet, laced with the sulphur tang of the volcano behind the compound. Bond ducked beneath a corrugated roof, the heat pressing against his neck, and counted the guards at the next checkpoint. Two. Maybe three. Somewhere up in the tower, Scaramanga was probably watching through binoculars, smiling, narrating his own little play to an audience of one. The golden gun caught the afternoon light like a dare. Bond checked his magazine, wiped the sweat from his brow, and moved.
Reader's Guide
Scaramanga appears as a supporting character who equips the protagonist with the GoldenEye implant and its upgrades. He does not appear as a playable character or boss in the source material.
