Auric Goldfinger
The gold-obsessed villain of Fleming's seventh novel and the third Bond film.
Auric Goldfinger is the main antagonist of Ian Fleming's 1959 novel Goldfinger and of the 1964 film based on it, the third in the Bond series. His first name means "of gold".

Fleming named him after the architect Ernő Goldfinger, his neighbour in Hampstead, whose modernist buildings and demolition of Victorian terraces he disliked. In 2003 the American Film Institute ranked Goldfinger the 49th greatest film villain of the century, and an IMDb poll voted him the most sinister Bond villain ahead of Blofeld, Dr. No, Max Zorin and Emilio Largo. His line "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die" is among the most quoted in the series.
