Ernst Stavro Blofeld is the supervillain of the James Bond novels and films, created by Ian Fleming. He heads the criminal organisation SPECTRE, where he is known as Number 1, and is Bond's archenemy.

Fleming wrote him as a huge, powerfully built man of about six feet and twenty stone who had gone to fat. He is the series' most recurring antagonist: he appears or is heard in the novels Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and You Only Live Twice, and in eight Eon films from From Russia with Love onward.
