Gameplay

Sudoku Fever is a handheld version of the number-placement puzzle in which players fill a nine-by-nine grid with digits 1 through 9, ensuring each row, column, and three-by-three subgrid contains every number once. The game offers puzzles at varying difficulty levels—Classic, Eight, Mini, and Junior—using different grid sizes (9-by-9, 8-by-8, 6-by-6, and 4-by-4) and symbol-based puzzles. A Sudoku Solver mode allows players to input puzzles from other sources to receive a solution.

Reception

Critics generally enjoyed the puzzles but found the game limited in features and visually unappealing. GameZone praised the elegant puzzle design and gameplay choices but called the presentation average and uninteresting. Scott Alan Mariott of Allgame described the presentation as barebones, with ugly backgrounds and bland audio, though he noted the interface, options, and puzzles were great. Nintendo Power called the game underwhelming, citing bland presentation and few play modes. Jeuxvideo saw no advantage over pen and paper, finding the graphics austere and lacking color.
