Wye

The Trantorian sector where Empire and intrigue collide.

Wye is a powerful and vital sector of Trantor, the capital world of the Galactic Empire, situated at the planet's south pole. In Prelude to Foundation its mayor is Rashelle, daughter of Mannix IV; she and her father have long plotted to overthrow the Emperor and take his place. Near the end of the novel Hari Seldon, Dors Venabili and Raych are kidnapped and brought before her. Rashelle launches her coup, but it quickly collapses when Demerzel subverts Wye's forces.
