Reader's Guide

The game consists of one-on-one fights and a 27-chapter Story Mode, in which Aang, Korra, and Kyoshi investigate a rift during the Harmonic Convergence that alters memories and brings people from different eras. Twelve characters are available at launch, including Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph Beifong, Zuko, Azula, Ozai, Kyoshi, Korra, Zaheer, Aang in the Avatar State, and a dark version of Korra called Nightmare Korra. Each character has three supports that alter their playstyle, similar to the variation system in Mortal Kombat X. A Year One Pass adds five more characters: Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a fifth character chosen by fan poll from options including King Bumi, Tenzin, Kuvira, Amon, and Asami. The game received generally favorable reviews on Metacritic, with IGN praising its 2D animations, combos, and combat styles, but criticizing the story mode and lack of features such as adjustable AI difficulty.
