Dragon Ball GT

The anime-only sequel in which a child Goku hunts the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Dragon Ball GT is a 64-episode Toei Animation series that aired on Fuji Television from February 1996 to November 1997. Unlike the two earlier series it does not adapt the manga: it is an original sequel to Dragon Ball Z, though Toriyama designed new characters and concepts for it.

Story

Emperor Pilaf summons a more powerful red dragon with the Black Star Dragon Balls and Goku is accidentally turned back into a child. Those Dragon Balls will destroy Earth unless they are gathered within a year, so Goku sets off across the universe with his granddaughter Pan and Trunks, eventually running into the Tuffle parasite Baby.

Place in the franchise

Chronologically it is the last Dragon Ball story, set after Z. Dragon Ball Daima later reused several of its ideas.
