Lore & Background
Conker is the irreverent, hard-drinking protagonist of the Conker series. After a night of heavy drinking, he embarks on a surreal and often violent journey to return to his girlfriend, Berri. The games parody various genres and pop culture, with Conker leading a makeshift army of squirrels and other creatures in absurd military conflicts, such as the Great Mighty Poo battle and the fight against the Tediz.
In Their Own Story
The briefing room smelled of wet fur and cheap coffee. Sergeant Pippin tapped the map with a stubby claw, his cap askew, and said, "Right, lads. Conker, you're point. The rest of you—" he gestured vaguely at a cluster of squirrels who were mostly trying to open a biscuit tin, "—you're support. Or decoration. I can't tell yet."
Conker leaned against the wall, eye half-closed, nursing a dented flask. Outside, the wind rattled the tin roof of the forward base and the distant rumble of something large and mechanical shook the acorn crates. He didn't look up. "Same as last Tuesday, then."
"No, Conker, this one's different."
"Everything's different until it isn't."
Pippin sighed, pulled a crumpled order from his tunic, and pinned it to the map. The mission was simple on paper. It was never simple on the ground. Conker finished his drink, set the flask down, and reached for his weapon. The Squirrel Army was about to go to war, and as always, the paperwork would be a disaster.
