Gilbert G.P. Guilford, once known as the "Spearhead of the Empire", is the bespectacled personal knight and confidant of Second Princess Cornelia, whom he loves, and the commander of her Glaston Knights.

Lore & Background
He pilots a Gloucester and, in the second season, the more advanced Vincent. He helps put down the Black Rebellion in the first-season finale, then stays in Area 11 waiting for the missing Cornelia, and briefly stands in as Viceroy after Carales is killed. In the battle for Japan Lelouch's Geass makes him believe Lelouch is Cornelia, and Guilford sacrifices himself to shield Lelouch from the F.L.E.I.J.A. blast; he somehow escapes and is later reunited with Cornelia.
