The Holy Britannian Empire, or Britannia, is one of the three superpowers of the Code Geass world, ruling the Americas alongside the Chinese Federation in Asia and the Europa United in Europe and Africa.

Lore & Background
On August 10, 2010 a.t.b. it conquers Japan with its newest weapon, the Knightmare Frame, strips the country and its people of their rights, and renames it Area 11, its people called Elevens. In the series' alternate history Britain repelled Julius Caesar's invasions under Alwin the First, whose kingdom's founding in 54 BC is year 1 of the Britannian calendar. Lelouch, an exiled prince and son of Emperor Charles zi Britannia, sets out to destroy the empire.
