Tomoya's estranged father, and the key to his change of heart.
Naoyuki Okazaki is Tomoya Okazaki's father. After his wife Atsuko died when Tomoya was young, he raised his son alone, but he stopped working, turned to drink and argued constantly with Tomoya.

Background
In one argument he slammed Tomoya against a wall and dislocated his right shoulder, an injury that ended Tomoya's basketball. From then on he treated his son kindly but like a stranger, which hurt Tomoya even more, and Tomoya eventually moves out to live with Nagisa's family. In ~After Story~ Naoyuki is jailed over problems at work; Tomoya visits him and later tells him he is marrying Nagisa, which he accepts. Five years on, Tomoya's grandmother Shino tells him how much Naoyuki sacrificed to raise him, and Tomoya forgives his father, who then goes back to his hometown to live with his mother. In the film he begs the Furukawas to help his grieving son.
