The Orioles are Baltimore's MLB team, in the American League East, and play at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, opened in 1992. The franchise was one of the AL's eight original clubs in 1901, playing that first year as the Milwaukee Brewers before a long spell in St. Louis as the Browns; Baltimore investors bought it and moved it to the city for 1954.

Their best era ran from 1966 to 1983, with six pennants and World Series wins in 1966, 1970 and 1983, led by Hall of Famers such as Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson and Jim Palmer. A decline followed, including an 0–21 start in 1988 and 14 straight losing seasons from 1998 to 2011. The club has won ten division titles, most recently in 2023. David Rubenstein owns the team; Mike Elias is general manager and Craig Albernaz the manager.
