LV-426 Discovery Site

Where silence screams and the perfect organism first found its prey.

Once terraformed and colonised by Weyland-Yutani, the site rapidly devolved from a commercial outpost into a tomb. The moon holds the derelict spacecraft of an ancient Engineer civilization.

Lore & Background

The first began when the USCSS Nostromo, diverted by a mysterious transmission, landed and its crew entered a derelict alien vessel. Inside, the crew discovered a chamber containing hundreds of large eggs, unknowingly unleashing a chain reaction that decimated their ship. The second epoch arrived with Weyland-Yutani's hubris: the construction of Hadley's Hope. The corporation built an atmospheric processor to terraform the dead world for its colonists. It was a triumph of engineering until colonists, sent on Carter Burke's orders to investigate the derelict ship, triggered an Alien outbreak. The Colonial Marines arrived only after Hadley's Hope had already been overrun, deployed not for terraforming support but to investigate the disappearance and secure the Xenomorph threat.

Reader's Guide

Originally flagged by the Nostromo's computer, Mother, after detecting a transmission, the moon revealed its true nature when the crew entered a derelict ship of non-human origin. The vessel contained a chamber with hundreds of large eggs and the fossilized corpse of a giant pilot, leading directly to the facehugger attack on Kane. Decades later, Weyland-Yutani returned to establish Hadley's Hope, leveraging the moon's atmospheric processor to render the hostile environment habitable. The colony thrived until a catastrophic breach turned it into a kill box, leaving behind only debris and the lingering threat of the hive.
