Lore & Background
Newt is the orphan of the colony LV-426, rescued by Ellen Ripley and the unit of colonial marines on the Sulaco. She is the only surviving colonist, living in the air ducts of the Hadley's Hope compound when the Colonial Marines discover her. After her rescue, she forms a bond with Ripley, who becomes her protector. The entire expedition, except Ripley, Corporal Hicks, the orphan Newt and the android Bishop, is lost. In cryosleep on the Sulaco, Ripley is impregnated with a queen by a facehugger Alien morph; this triggers a fire, which causes the ship to crash on the prison planet Fiorina 161, killing all aboard, save for Ripley.
