Description
The island chain was once regarded as the "last paradise" due to its beauty.[2]
20th Century
An anti-asteroid laser system was stored at the Comona Islands for a time but was never fully completed.[3] In December 1994, the International Astronomical Union discovered an asteroid that might hit Earth, naming it Ulysses 1994XF04.[3] Comona University worked with Seals Bridge University to compute the asteroid's path, and by October 1995 they verified it would strike the planet.[3]
Usean coup d'état
During the Usean coup d'état in 1998, the Usean Rebel Forces seized the laser units and planned to launch a satellite with one, but the Allied Forces destroyed the units and the shuttle at the space center.[4]
Continental War
ISAF launched a reconnaissance satellite from Comona in Operation Countdown, which Erusea tried to prevent, leading to a major air battle over the space center.[5] During the Continental War, the Comona Islands sided with the Independent State Allied Forces and Erusea never captured them.[5]
2010s
The International Space Elevator's first cable transportation rocket lifted off from Comona in January 2013.[6]
Intercorporate War
The Comona Islands later came under the ownership of Neucom Incorporated and were the site of events during the simulated Intercorporate War.[7]
