Usea

Lore & Background

Usea's history is marked by a series of devastating wars, most notably the Continental War and the Lighthouse War. The continent's geography has played a crucial role in these conflicts, with the vast desert of the east providing a natural barrier. The Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid impact in 1999 reshaped the continent's landscape, creating multiple impact craters across the continent and triggering a refugee crisis that fueled future tensions. The continent's nations have often been divided by ideology and ambition, but have also shown a capacity for unity in the face of existential threats.

Reader's Guide

Usea is the central stage for the Ace Combat series' most memorable narratives, serving as the backdrop for the emotional arcs of characters like Mobius 1, Blaze, and Talisman. Its diverse environments—from the canyons of the 'Shattered Skies' campaign to the urban sprawl of Gracemeria—offer a rich tapestry for aerial combat. The continent's history of conflict, from the Continental War to the Emmerian-Estovakian War, reflects themes of nationalism, survival, and the human cost of war. For fans, Usea is more than a setting; it is a character in its own right, its geography and politics driving the stories that have defined the franchise. Understanding Usea is key to appreciating the depth of the Ace Combat universe, as its wars and alliances have shaped the world of Strangereal.
