Andrei Markov
Markov flies an aircraft with a shark's mouth design, earning him the nickname and call-sign Akula.[1] He swore revenge against NATO and the United States after his wife Krista Yoslav was killed during a NATO bombing raid.[1][2] Markov left the Russian military to form a rebellion group and develop a super-weapon to use against the United States.[1] Colonel Andrei Markov serves as the primary villain in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.[1]
He was once a highly decorated aviator in the Russian Air Force.[1] Markov perished in January 2016 after Lieutenant Colonel William Bishop shot him down above Washington, D.C.[1][3] His aircraft number is 36, and he flew an Su-35S Flanker-E and a PAK-FA T-50 -Akula-.[6]
