X-02 Wyvern
The X-02 features variable geometry wings that fold inward at high speeds and a forward-swept wing configuration.[1][2] The X-02S Strike Wyvern is the first variant of the X-02, introduced in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.[1][3] The Erusean Air and Space Administration developed the X-02 Wyvern, which is also designated X-02A and belongs to the fifth generation of fighter aircraft.[1] Within the Ace Combat series, this fictional aircraft first appeared in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies and has become a well-known design.[1]

Design
Its design grants extreme mobility and a degree of stealth when wings are folded, but reduces armor and fuel capacity.[2] The aircraft is carrier-capable and incorporates an internal weapons bay on its ventral surface.[2] Specifications include a length of 21.84 m, a top speed of Mach 2.5, and a combat radius of 1,050 km.[2] Two ERG-1000 engines with three-dimensional thrust vectoring provide the X-02's propulsion.[2]
Conception
Development of the X-02A began in the 1980s from an Erusean Navy fighter program, with preliminary blueprints completed on January 22, 1987.[4]
Development
The project was halted after the Ulysses asteroid announcement, then restarted in June 1998 after Stonehenge's completion.[5] Production of the X-02 was scheduled to begin by September 2005, but the conflict concluded before the aircraft could be deployed.[5]
Infinity universe
In the Infinity universe, an unidentified nation created the X-02, and later its plans were incorporated into the Advanced Automated Aviation Plant owned by Wernher and Noah Enterprises.[6]
